The Benefits of CCTV in your home

IP CCTV systems represent the next generation in CCTV technology. Unlike traditional Analogue CCTV cameras that capture images and audio directly, IP CCTV converts images and audio into digital data, that can then be transmitted over an internet network to an authorised remote viewing device (e.g. a PC, Smartphone, or Tablet).

Using IP CCTV over traditional Analogue CCTV provides the following benefits:

  • Increased Flexibility rather than needing to have a recording device installed at each location where you use CCTV.
  • IP CCTV cameras can transmit the images and audio to a remote viewing location, where it can be viewed, recorded and managed.
  • IP CCTV can transmit over Local Networks (i.e. your home or office network), or across the Internet (for e.g. if you are at home and want to view the live CCTV footage at your business premises).

Easier Installation

Whereas Analogue cameras require extensive wiring and physical connections to the recording device, IP CCTV cameras are much simpler to install, since they are connected to your existing network. This reduces the number of unsightly cables and lessens any disruption to your work environment.

Superior images and sound quality

IP Cameras provide highly-detailed Megapixel resolution images, that far surpasses the quality of images captured by Analogue cameras – such superlative picture and sound quality is only possible due to the digital nature of the IP technology. The level of quality and detail provided by IP CCTV cameras means you may even be able to reduce the number of separate CCTV cameras you need to cover a particular area.

Integration with other security systems

IP CCTV integrates tightly into your existing network, and because it uses an established protocol (IP; which stands for ‘Internet Protocol’), your IP CCTV system can be set-up to work alongside other devices in your security set-up (for example, your Access Control system, or IP Phone System) and work with them in many useful ways.

CCTV is one of the most useful tools against reducing crimes like theft and vandalism. CCTV also helps to protect your home, public spaces, and businesses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are the benefits of having a CCTV system installed in my home?

There are many reasons why a CCTV system in your home is beneficial. We would all love to think that we live in a quiet, crime-free environment, however you can never be too careful and this is what makes CCTV cameras vital.

  • As a precaution – A CCTV system will improve the security and safety of your home, through remote monitoring both inside and outside of the house. With newly installed CCTV systems you are able to send the live image around your home via your TVs, or even get live updates via an app on your smartphone.
  • Assisting in crime within your local community – CCTV systems can be used to obtain evidential, quality images and recordings of an suspects that may be involved in criminal activity within your area. CCTV recordings serve as irrefutable evidence in any investigation, which could assist your neighbours or even yourself.
  • Prevent future crimes – CCTV cameras are a great way to warn off potential criminals from your home. Just seeing the camera or alarm system, an intruder is most likely to move away.
  • Increased sense of security for you and your family – a well-built and functional system can provide families with an increased sense of security and peace of mind. Installing a CCTV camera is a low-cost investment in keeping an eye on your children, pets, and properties.
Q: Am I limited to the amount of cameras I require?

This is going to depend on the DVR that you have installed at present. They range from a 4 Way (which enables 4 cameras to be connected) and 8 Way (8 cameras) and the largest, a 16 Way (16 cameras connected at any one time).

If the DVR you have installed has reached its capacity you have the option to upgrade to the next DVR to enable more cameras.

Q: How can I view the CCTV systems that you install?

All our cameras can be accessed remotely via a smartphone app on both iOS or Android enabled devices. Using network connectivity, the App offers a quick and easy way for you to monitor your CCTV system anywhere, anytime. Set up is simple using QR codes and the latest P2P technology meaning complicated port forwarding is not required.

They can also be transmitted around your home via your TV System or one installed by us.

Q: I already have a CCTV camera, are you able to upgrade this?

Of course, the camera you have in situ at the moment may be outdated or just faulty.

We would arrange for an engineer to visit and conduct a Free Quotation on upgrade camera itself and the DVR if necessary.

Q: Do you install CCTV systems that I purchase myself?

Yes, we are able to install products that you purchase. You would be charged for just our time and any further materials that you may not be able to supply.

You would also still receive your 1 – 2 Year Warranty however this would just be to cover our service and not the product itself.
